Artist's Description
Capturing critters in flight is one of my favorite photographic challenges, and hoverflies are among my favorite subjects. Captured this one flying among my pea patch one summer morning. I liked the way the conversion to B&W simplified the image as the distractions in the background faded to gray nothingness leaving the fly and a few soft leaves.

Located in central New Jersey, I shoot under the moniker LensAfield, specializing in macro (close-up) imagery of the natural world around us that we generally don't pay attention to, don't see, or are not aware. I like to find and photograph interesting and difficult subjects that are technically and artistically challenging and maintain an active "bucket list" of shots I would like to capture as I contemplate future shooting opportunities.
