A sliver of sunlight penetrates the dense grape vine canopy to illuminate this first flower of the bunch to bloom in the new season. For scale, about six of these unopened would cover your fingernail. These flowers have no petals, only the parts needed for reproduction.
About Len Romanick
Located in central New Jersey, I shoot under the moniker LensAfield, specializing in macro (close-up) imagery of the natural world around us that we generally don't pay attention to, don't see, or are not aware.
